Workshop: One Piece Top

In this workshop, we'll delve into the world of Haute Couture, drawing inspiration from Madeleine Marie Valentine Vionnet, renowned for her ingenious bias-cut designs. We'll apply her innovative principles to sew a stylish and versatile top from a single pattern piece, where the fabric truly shines. This pattern is perfect for showcasing large, bold prints and textural weaves. Silk crepe de chine works exceptionally well, as do marquisette, soft silks, cotton voile, rayons, batiste, chenille, and pongee.

Content

  • Applying the Vionnet concept: Sewing with just one pattern piece for a flowing, elegant result, emphasizing the fabric's unique qualities.
  • Cutting the fabric on the bias.
  • Sewing the side seams using french seam, hemming and finishing the neck with bias tape.
  • Individual adjustments to personalize your pattern.
  • Practical tips and tricks for a perfect finish.

  • 4 hours.
